About Us
This web resource and online community has evolved to harness a wealth of knowledge accumulated by specialists in British domestic tourism.
It is intended to be a dynamic and interactive community site that brings together those professionals with jobs in government, public agencies, local authorities, specialist organisations and tourism and travel trade businesses who show an interest and commitment to a flourishing, high quality and sustainable UK tourism sector.
We are privileged to have available the comprehensive content published in British Tourism: The Guide For The Travel Trade, the ongoing news and information gathering support of Landor travel publications and the expertise of our sister site www.rudi.net (Resource for Urban Design Information) the UK s leading resource for urban design and development. In addition, we have a number of specialist contributors from within the industry and are always open to individual inputs of new information, discussion and debate and ideas from the general development of UK tourism.
How this site is structured
Within the pages of UKTourismPro.net there are a number of distinct areas of information and knowledge exchange.A significant source of information is British Tourism: The Guide For The Travel Trade which includes full national and regional tourism details, area by area trade contact information, national and specialist organisation directory, contact details for all 800 Tourist Information Centres, ferry and rail operator information with maps and trade contact numbers. Although not the whole of the guide is available, as published in print, you will find a significant body of information about the UK tourism industry.
Updating this resource on a day-to-day basis is a feature of our news & events, resources and people news areas. Along side these areas we have a discussion forum, led by our site editor Tom Evans, and other sections where you can contact us and receive feedback, post items for inclusion on the site and sign up for free electronic bulletins.
As this is a dynamic and evolving professional resource we are delighted to include links to other bodies of knowledge and organisations and to post announcements of professional events and networking opportunities.
